Job Description

We have an exciting new role to join our team as a Software Engineer Backend Java based from Budapest Hungary.

As a Software Development Engineer at Genesys youll be responsible for helping to design and develop cutting edge software that utilizes journey analytics to help companies uncover insights and provide greater customer experience.

You will be part of a distributed agile team of developers QA engineers and product managers who thrive on solving hard technical problems involving massive amount of data to provide the industrys best customer journey analytics platform.

Our team is responsible for the whole lifecycle of the product starting with being involved in product planning through architecture design implementation deployment and operation. With this autonomy comes great responsibility. To make this work we expect everyone on the team to understand the impact their changes might have on other teams and the Genesys Cloud platform as a whole and to consider all aspects of software design on a daily basis.

What do you need to be successful

• Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience

• Minimum 2 years of Java development experience

• Experience in AWS. We mainly use Lambda SQS DynamoDB EMR Serverless (Spark) services among others.

• Good understanding of Linux

• Experience in microservice design and implementation including API design and implementation.

• Attention to details. Tendency to double check what you are doing

• Readiness to learn new technologies

• Proficient English communication skills verbal and written is a must.

Additionally experience in the following is welcomed:

• Good understanding of different test strategies (unit test integration test non-functional testing etc)

• Infra as code tools (CloudFormation Terraform)

• Understanding of CI/CD processes

• Experience with OpenAPI / Swagger.

• Any development experience in Python
