Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer to contribute to major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across New South Wales supporting programs for Sydney Water including treatment plant upgrades and new facility developments.
Reporting to the I&C Lead you will assist in the design and specification of general instrumentation analysers pneumatic systems and process-focused control solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation of scope of services and technical documentation for DCS pneumatics analysers (pH conductivity ORP etc.) and instrumentation (flow pressure etc.).
Develop detailed I&C schedules including cables instruments and I/O assignments
Preparation of Instrumentation Datasheets select and specify appropriate instruments and monitoring systems based on process requirements Sydney Water standards and compliance.
Review supplier documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications and where applicable Sydney Water standards.
Validate control sequences for water and wastewater operations ensuring accurate data acquisition process efficiency and reliable monitoring and control.
Assist and Plan the location and arrangement of instrumentation and control equipment including cabinets and plant layouts.
Collaborate closely with automation teams to integrate instrumentation with process control systems maintaining alignment with design intent and technical specifications.
Required Skills and Competencies
Degree in Electrical Engineering Instrumentation & Control or related discipline.
Extensive experience in I&C engineering within large-scale infrastructure projects (water sector experience highly desirable).
Proven experience in designing developing and implementing plant control and instrumentation solutions.
Experience with cable termination drawings and cable routing design.
Demonstrated understanding of Australian and international standards (AS IEC ISO ASME etc.).
