Overall Responsibility:
Leading a team of volunteers by developing organizing and supervising the Childrens Ministry (Pre-5th grades) to help the next generation become disciples of Jesus Christ. The goal is to lead our leaders in growing a healthy relational and outward focused ministry. This person will oversee our Wednesday night ministry and special events including Vacation Bible School and Trunk or Treat.
Essential Job Functions:
Research recommend and implement a Bible-based curriculum in consultation with a ministry team.
Recruit train equip and develop leaders and volunteers to serve in Student and Childrens Ministries.
Develop and coordinate ministries that incorporate small groups large groups and service projects for children and their families.
Coordinate with staff and other ministry leaders to promote and advocate for children to attend and participate in worship.
Plan promote recruit volunteers and help coordinate a safe engaging and community-friendly Vacation Bible School each summer.
Monitor and ensure all volunteers have a current Safe Gatherings Certificate on file.
Coordinate with other staff in promotion of events.
Consistent presence and leadership in weekly Childrens Ministry (Wednesday evenings) and Weekend Worship.
Assist in worship through leading Childrens Time and other worship elements such as announcements prayer etc.
Essential Knowledge Experience and Education:
Understanding of childrens Ministry culture principles trends and programs.
Graduation from an accredited college or university preferred.
Strong leadership and administrative skills.
Ability to be comfortable with and effectively speak to small medium and large groups of all ages.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to identify recruit develop and engage leaders passionate in making disciples of Jesus Christ.
Skill in working with individuals to achieve a teamwork work environment.
Must have a clear call to childrens ministry and articulate relationship with Christ.
Weekly Staff Meetings and 4-8 office hours a week required. Must be willing to join Church.
