Summary
The Direct Support Professional works under the direct supervision of the Client Care Manager and under the general guidance of the individual as they provide general habilitation and companionship care as indicated in their Individual Support Plan (ISP). Direct Care Support Professional have an important role in allowing our clients to maintain their independence with an Everyday Lives focused care.
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) report directly to Client Care Managers (CCMs) and are expected to communicate with their CCM regularly as needed and be available during their scheduled shift as necessary. Announced and unannounced home visits will occur two times annually during a scheduled shift in the clients residence. DSPs are evaluated by their Client Care Manager on their performance at 90 days and annually thereafter. DSPs are expected to maintain the integrity of JEVS Care at Home and are expected to comply with all JEVS Care at Home policies as found in the Caregiver Manual. Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) is a requirement of the role and training on how to properly document services and timekeeping will be provided to the DSP. DSP is responsible for communicating any EVV compliance issues with their Client Care Manager (CCM).

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and have the ability to assist with client ambulation and transfers to/from bed to/from bath and toilet. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands; reach with hands and arms.
