Kent Place School is seeking a mathematics teacher to inspire upper school girls to develop their interests and skills in math and pursue futures in STEM fields. Candidates should demonstrate a successful track record in collaboration with colleagues personal initiative to innovate in their teaching practices and a commitment to inspiring students through engaging classroom practice. Candidates should have a keen interest in using math to investigate and answer interdisciplinary questions in both the natural and social sciences. The successful candidate will join a math department committed to inquiry-based learning and the use of assessments to develop girls love of learning confidence and mathematical proficiency.
Responsibilities will also include advising a group of students facilitating upper school activities and participating in community events. Experience with curriculum writing and teaching in an integrated math sequence at the high school level is a plus. Candidates with teaching experience in higher levels of mathematics specifically AP Calculus AB will be prioritized. Masters degree in a related academic field or in teaching preferred.
