This is what you will do:
The Associate Director Portfolio Strategy & New Product Planning(PS&NPP)in Japan is responsible for contributing to business growth and profitability through driving launch excellences and a variety of external pipeline search and evaluation. The primary focus of the role is to evaluate new opportunities manage the process and build long-term relationships with external and internal stakeholders with prospects in a manner consistent with Alexion Pharmaceuticals culture and values. As Associate Director you have extensive professional experience in this field and required skills. The Associate Director reports to Head of PS&NPP and works in close collaboration with the other members in PS&NPP as well as other departments in Japan and global functions.
You will be responsible for:
Lead Launch Excellence for internal pipelines
Lead external pipeline search and evaluation activities such as commercial and financial evaluation seeking for potential partnering opportunities.
Development of portfolio strategy.
Ideation of new business opportunities.
Responsible and accountable for the overall successful relationship and contractual management of alliance programs resulting from various transactions.
Lead and /or participate in Japan/global business development projects as a representative of Japan PS&NPP.
Expand Alexions industry presence through meetings and events.
Develop marketing strategy for early-stage products based on target product profile customer insights and unmet medical needs.
Lead a cross-functional launch team to ensure a successful launch.
Acts as a project manager in launch preparation teams.
You will need to have:
Experience of product marketing. (at least 3 years of proven experience)
Experience of pipeline search and evaluation activities is preferred.
Understanding of launch excellence concept and operations
Understanding of financial concepts to assess the attractiveness of opportunities as well as commercial knowledge.
Good understanding of the pharmaceutical/healthcare environment and a proven eye for commercial opportunities.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Interpersonal negotiation meeting facilitation and presentation skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to accept variety of assignments highly motivated a self-starter and performs well under stress.
Ability to build and manage collaborative relationships at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
Strategic thinking including the ability to incorporate the perspective of different stakeholders.
Leadership that takes the initiative.
Fluency in Japanese ; proficiency in English is preferred.
We would prefer for you to have:
Bachelors degree in science finance or other relevant degrees. Commercial and/or finance expertise desirable.
Scientific and commercial knowledge of rare disease space. (preferred)
Advanced degree such as MBA. (preferred)
