Meet the Team

The15.4 Software Quality Assurance (SQA)team at Silicon Labs ensures the reliability and performance of our wireless software stacks and development tools. We focus onautomation scripting and continuous integrationtovalidateIEEE 802.15.4based technologies such asZigbeeMatter andOpenThread which form the backbone of secure low-power IoT networks. As part of a global engineering organization the team collaborates with firmware DevOps and systems engineers tomaintainSilicon Labs reputation for delivering robust high-quality wireless connectivity solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Developautomatedtest frameworksand scripts tovalidatewireless protocol software.

  • Executetest plansand analyze results to ensure the quality stability and performance of 15.4-based stacks and related tools.

  • SupportCI/CD pipelinesusing tools such asJenkinsandPyTestfor continuous validation.

  • WritePytestscripts and utilities to automate testing data analysis and regression checks.

  • Collaborate with software DevOps and QA teams to improve automation coverage and process efficiency.

  • Troubleshoot reproduce and document software issues in Linux-based environments.

  • Contribute to the enhancement of internal test infrastructure and quality metrics tracking.

Skills You Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree inComputer Engineering Computer Science Electrical Engineering ora related field.

  • StrongproficiencyinPython programming.

  • Experience working inLinux environmentsfor development scripting and debugging.

  • Basic understanding ofnetworkingandwireless technologies(e.g. Wi-Fi or similar).

  • Familiarity withQA methodologies automated testing frameworks and version control systems.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with a mindset for quality and efficiency.

The Following Qualifications Will Be ConsideredaPlus:

  • Knowledge ofIEEE 802.15.4 wireless technologies includingZigbeeorOpenThread.

  • Working exposure toAI tools such asCursorVScode CoPilotandChatGPT

  • Hands-on experience withDevOps tools and CI/CD systemssuch as Jenkins or GitHubCI.

  • Experience usingPyTestor other Python-based testing frameworks.

  • Understanding ofnetwork analysis packet sniffing or debugging tools for wireless protocols.

  • Familiarity withsoftware test automation frameworksor infrastructure development.

  • Prior project or internship experience supportingSQA or DevOps automationin embedded or wireless systems.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $78050 - $144950 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience geographic location where work will be performed and applicants skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
