We are seeking Nurse Practitioner Leads to join the Nurse Practitioner Training Support Scheme (NPTSS) project team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Tū Ora Compass Health is part of a newly established consortium of six Primary Health Organisations (PHOs) working together to deliver the NPTSS. This nationally coordinated regionally responsive Scheme is designed to support nurses during the final year of their Nurse Practitioner (NP) training and the first 6 months following registration.
Our six PHOs are recognised as strategic influencers within the health system. Collectively we support more than 450 general practices across key regions providing reach local insight and sector expertise. We will collaborate with other parts of the health sector nationally and regionally who may employ NP trainees as part of this programme.
As a collective we are committed to ensuring the NPTSS is scalable equitable and responsive to the diverse needs of NP trainees including those working in urban rural and isolated communities across Aotearoa.

About The Role
As the Nurse Practitioner Lead you will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting the next generation of Nurse Practitioners through the NPTSS programme. Providing clinical leadership mentorship and operational oversight youll ensure each trainee and practice placement is well matched well supported and set up for success.

What Youll Do
Act as the key link between trainees employers academic providers and the consortium offering clinical leadership and problem-
solving.
Oversee trainee progress and embed sustainable clinical practice improvements.
Provide access to supervision mentoring and uphold quality clinical standards.
Ensure the programme is culturally safe equitable and impactful for all.
What Youll Bring
Current Nurse Practitioner registration with at least 5 years experience in primary community mental health or relevant secondary
care setting.
Proven clinical leadership and mentoring experience within complex or multi-stakeholder environments.
Strong relationship management and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across sectors.
Sound understanding of health inequities and commitment to advancing equitable outcomes for Māori and Pacific Peoples.
Exceptional organisational and critical appraisal skills with a proactive solution-focused approach.
Deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its practical application within healthcare.
Resilient adaptive and passionate about supporting the development of the Nurse Practitioner workforce.
