Job Summary
Were looking for a motivated Junior / Mid-Level PHP Developer to join our growing tech team in Cape Town WC. In this role you will architect develop and maintain both internal and client-facing functionality from inception through to deployment.
Youll work on exciting projects such as upgrading PHP codebases developing RESTful APIs migrating front-end systems to ReactJS and integrating AI-powered solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain PHP-based applications using MVC frameworks (Symfony or Laravel)
Write clean efficient and reusable code following best practices (SOLID DRY KISS)
Monitor test improve and upgrade existing functionality
Assist in refactoring legacy code into modern systems
Maintain and improve AWS-based production environments
Create and consume REST and SOAP APIs
Collaborate with a small dynamic team in a start-up environment
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field (equivalent experience considered)
2 years of practical PHP OOP experience (WordPress experience not sufficient)
2 years experience with MySQL or Postgres
2 years experience with PHP MVC frameworks (Symfony preferred Laravel acceptable)
Proficient with Git and working in a Linux environment (Ubuntu preferred)
