About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Property Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations for a growing portfolio of real estate assets and car wash businesses. This role is responsible for accounts payable payroll rent and mortgage tracking bank and credit card reconciliations financial reporting and compliance support across multiple entities.
This position is ideal for an accounting professional with formal accounting training strong attention to detail and experience managing multi-entity multi-bank environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Daily Accounting
- Review verify and process vendor invoices
- Match invoices to completed maintenance work orders
- Pay approved invoices and resolve discrepancies
- Upload and maintain organized financial documentation
- Reconcile bank transactions and support accounting automation
Payroll & Expense Management
- Process bi-weekly payroll for U.S. non-U.S. and operating business employees
- Review and reconcile credit card transactions
Rent Mortgage & Cash Management
- Post rent receipts (including Section 8) and monitor receivables
- Track mortgage payments cash balances and inter-company transfers
- Confirm management fees and operational fund transfers
- Follow up on unpaid rent and post late fees as needed
Bank Credit Card & Utility Reconciliations
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly
- Ensure credit card balances are paid on time
- Process utility bills tenant allocations and vendor payments
- Record tenant charge-backs and maintain utility tracking
Reporting Compliance & Support
- Clear suspense accounts and maintain clean ledgers
- Support quarterly reviews and annual entity filings
- Assist with tax preparation (P&L balance sheet classifications)
- Maintain accurate records of bank accounts and system access
Qualifications
- Junior accounting certification required (or equivalent training)
- 3 years of bookkeeping or property accounting experience
- Experience with online accounting systems and spreadsheets
- Strong understanding of payroll reconciliations and reporting cycles
- Ability to manage multiple entities bank accounts and deadlines
- High attention to detail and strong documentation skills
- Must be able to work PST business hours
Preferred Experience
- Property management or real estate accounting
- Utility billing and tenant charge-back processes
- Accounting support for operating businesses (car wash retail or multi-location operations)
