What Youll Do

The Infrastructure and Operations Scrum master is a strategic role responsible for the agile delivery of the organizations IT Infrastructure initiatives and daily operations. This role is crucial in facilitating the teams adoption and adherence to the Scrum/Kanban framework ensuring the continuous delivery of high-quality reliable and scalable infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of both Agile principles and complex IT infrastructure environments. This position is part of the IT Global Infrastructure & Operation team and will be remote. A

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

Facilitate all Scrum Ceremonies: Organize and lead Daily Scrums Sprint Planning Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective meetings ensuring they are productive and time-boxed.

Remove Impediments: Proactively identify address and escalate technical and non-technical obstacles that prevent the team from achieving their sprint goals especially those related to cross-team dependencies or legacy infrastructure issues.

Coach the Team: Coach the infrastructure team in self-organization cross-functionality and continuous delivery helping them to apply Agile principles in an infrastructure context.

Promote Adherence: Ensure the team lives the Agile values and principles and adheres to the Scrum framework.

Manage Backlog: Collaborate with the Product Owner (often an Infrastructure or Platform Lead) to maintain a healthy and well-refined Product Backlog including technical debt operational tasks and infrastructure projects.

Communication: Act as a central communication point between the team and stakeholders providing clear transparent and timely updates on team progress risks and health metrics (e.g. burn-down/up charts velocity).

Transparency: Use tools (like Jira or Azure DevOps) to ensure the backlog sprint board and metrics are visible to the team and relevant stakeholders.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Experience: 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master with at least 1-2 years specifically working with Infrastructure Platform DevOps or IT Operations teams.

Certification: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) or equivalent Agile certification.

Technical Knowledge: Strong conceptual understanding of IT Infrastructure components (e.g. networking virtualisation cloud computing (AWS Azure GCP) operating systems databases).

Agile Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies Scrum principles and scaling frameworks (e.g. SAFe LeSS) is a plus.

Soft Skills: Excellent servant leadership facilitation conflict resolution and written/verbal communication skills.

Tool Proficiency: Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g. Jira Confluence Trello Azure DevOps).
