Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will provide skilled nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting which includes a combined Adult/Pedi unit and may involve floating to other Swedish campuses. Responsibilities include patient assessment medication administration emergency response and collaboration with the healthcare team. The role requires strong clinical skills in areas such as cardiac monitoring IV therapy respiratory support and triage.
Location:Seattle Washington United States
Responsibilities:

- Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications including IV vasopressors and procedural sedation.
- Provide respiratory support including CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management.
- Perform triage in the Emergency Department.
- Interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac emergencies.
- Initiate and manage IV therapy including blood product administration and central line care.
- Perform phlebotomy and obtain lab specimens.
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC.
- Respond to general ED psych SUDO Chemical Dependency ECT/TMS Involuntary Status Medical Psych Restraints Seclusion and Voluntary Status patients.
- Set up and care for chest tubes.
- Perform rapid sequence intubation.
- Obtain 12-lead EKGs and interpret telemetry.
- Manage drains and feeding tubes.
- Access and care for PICC/Central lines and Port-A-Caths/Vascular Devices.
- Utilize syringe pumps and triple lumen catheters.
- Float to Edmonds and other Swedish campuses as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum 2 years strong experience with required skillsets.
- General Emergency Department-Combined Adult/Pedi experience.
- Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias.
- Blood Product Administration Central line care/management Phlebotomy Starting IVs.
- IV vasopressors Procedural Sedation Administration.
- CPAP/BiPAP Ventilated patients.
- Triage.
- ACLS BCLS NIH PALS certifications.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Level II Trauma Center experience.
- Previous charge experience.
- Charting experience.
Special Considerations:

- Floating is required to Edmonds and other Swedish campuses on occasion.
- On-call every other weekend.
- All previous perm employees of ANY Providence affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a min of 3 months to qualify for a travel position.
- All Swedish facilities honor active compact license.
Scheduling:
- Work schedule and shift type not specified.
- No self-scheduling for travelers.
