Birmingham City Council is the largest local authority social landlord in Europe with a stock profile of just under 60000 properties. The Housing Solutions Service is the front door for citizens at risk of homelessness and those in housing crisis. Presently there are many external factors affecting homelessness and rough sleeping in our city from legislative change to the rise in the cost of living fuel poverty and the national housing crisis. These challenges mean that we have over 5000 families living in temporary accommodation. Our overarching strategic priority is moving people on to secure accommodation and delivering a high-quality safe and outcomes-focused temporary accommodation service.
We are seeking a candidate to join the Temporary Accommodation Private Sector Leasing Team. Are you passionate about making a difference in housing We are looking for a Senior Property and Support Officer to become a part of our Private Sector Leasing Team. This team plays a crucial role in providing quality temporary accommodation through partnerships with property management agencies.
The ideal candidate will provide customers with a seamless customer-centric experience while managing relationships to foster a culture of trust and openness.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead on managing a portfolio of leased properties ensuring compliance safety and high standards
Supports and guides property officers helping the team deliver excellent customer service to landlords and customers.
Work collaboratively with landlords and internal teams to maintain properties and resolve issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement across PSL
Promoting diversity equality and inclusion in all areas.
We are especially interested in receiving applications from individuals who have experience or familiarity with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
We are seeking a candidate with strong property management experience excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving along with an understanding of contract and relationship management.
This is an office-based role based at Magnolia House in Birmingham B12.
