Job Summary

Ivy Tech is seeking a Paramedic Science adjunct faculty member to provide instruction to EMT and paramedic students in a classroom or lab setting.

The Paramedic Science Adjunct Faculty Prepares presents and critiques EMT and Paramedic level cognitive psychomotor and affective topics of instruction to EMT and paramedic students in a classroom or lab setting. Works alone or in conjunction with other instructors under the general supervision of the Program Chair.

Prepares classroom and laboratory presentations/instruction based on the National Education Standards for EMT or Paramedic levels of instruction prepares and grades examinations and graded instruments provides counseling and advising to students maintains student records.

Major Responsibilities:

PROGRAM OPERATION:

Performs all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
Provides syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
Maintains student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
Submits requested information within established time lines.

STUDENTS:

Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
Deals with student concerns and if necessary consults with the Program Chair to resolve issues.

INSTRUCTION:

Meets all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
Uses technology such as Blackboard PowerPoint etc. as appropriate.
In the event of an emergency absence notifies Program Chair

Work Hours:

This position begins in August 2023.
Classes to be taught are Monday Wednesday Friday 11:30 am -1:45 pm

Hiring Range:

$45.00 per contact hour (approximately $2160 per 8-week course).
