DescriptionThe Custodial Tech Lead serves as a working lead custodial staff member by providing professional custodial duties in a fast-paced housing program designed to accommodate approximately 3700 resident-students. Housing and Residence Lifes mission and goal is to assure healthy safe clean and comfortable environments in the university residence halls.
The Custodial Tech Lead position reports to the Housing Facilities General Custodial Tech Supervisor and assists with the on-boarding detailed training reviews the work of custodial staff and provides corrective actions. Keeps supervisor abreast on an on-going basis by providing frequent updates and making recommendations for improvement. Reports problems incidents damages and building repair needs.
ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Communicates effectively and professionally in the workplace
- Customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with building occupants vendors and management
- Ability to work in a detailed-oriented team environment
- Adaptable and flexible ability to work under tight schedules and adjust to changing priorities and team deployment needs
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated skills in the operation of carpet cleaning and floor cleaning equipment such as buffers extractors scrubbers and power washers
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of housekeeping chemicals and equipment
- Willingness to learn and grow with the ability to receive and apply constructive feedback

QualificationsMinimum: Requires a high school diploma or GED 6 months of custodial experience in a commercial or institutional setting or an equivalent combination of education training and experience
