Middleware MQ System Administrator

Position Description:

Location: Montreal- Must be able to go onsite 4-5 days a week


Join CGIs Middleware team and contribute to the management and optimization of messaging and integration this hybrid role you will work on middleware technologies such as IBM MQ and RabbitMQ supporting application deployments and ensuring reliable message flows across enterprise systems. You will collaborate with experienced team members assist in troubleshooting and help maintain high availability and performance of messaging solutions. Your future duties and responsibilities:

- Assist in designing installing and configuring messaging environments (IBM MQ RabbitMQ).
-Support deployment and configuration of enterprise applications across middleware platforms.
Monitor and maintain messaging queues channels and related components to ensure stability and performance.
- Provide second-level support to developers and application teams including troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- Log track and resolve incidents; propose sustainable solutions and preventive measures.
- Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives for middleware and deployment workflows.
- Perform routine system administration tasks such as patching capacity monitoring and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to deliver practical cost-effective solutions.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation for configurations and procedures.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies (e.g. Kafka cloud messaging) and apply them to ongoing initiatives.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

2 years of experience with IBM MQ or similar messaging middleware.
Familiarity with installation configuration and upgrade of middleware components.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for incident resolution.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Bilingual French and English.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills
Exposure to Kafka or other event-streaming platforms.
Experience with cloud environments (AWS Azure or GCP) and containerization (Docker Kubernetes).
Knowledge of other IBM integration products (e.g. IBM Integration Bus App Connect). Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (PowerShell Python or similar).

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50 000$100 000. This role is an existing vacancy.

Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring interaction with national and global clients.
