Budget & Purchasing Coordinator
Location: Harris County TX
Pay Rate: 22.50/hr
About the Role
Harris County Precinct 2s Grants & Nonprofit Department is hiring a Budget & Purchasing Coordinator to support budgeting purchasing and financial reporting activities. This role ensures compliance with county policies and helps drive efficient use of funds for community-focused programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee purchasing processes including preparing and processing purchase orders
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with county policies and procedures
- Track and monitor departmental expenditures to maintain budget alignment
- Identify and report budget variances promptly
- Utilize Qualtrics for survey creation data tracking and reporting
- Train and support staff on grants budgeting and Qualtrics use
- Generate and analyze financial reports to support leadership decisions
- Maintain organized and secure electronic and physical financial records
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in purchasing budgeting or financial coordination
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office setting using standard office equipment. The role is primarily sedentary but may require lifting up to 50 lbs and occasional standing or bending for filing.
Note: This position may be required to work before during or after an emergency or disaster as part of the departments emergency response responsibilities.
