Job Summary

3 Month Contract With A Local Authority

Job Purpose

Rugby Council is seeking an experienced Property Solicitor to join their team on a hybrid basis. The role requires a solicitor with sound experience in residential and commercial property matters including right to buy lease extensions and property sales.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert legal advice on Right to Buy properties and buy-backs.
Draft review and negotiate consent orders sale and purchase agreements and lease extensions/renewals.
Advise on Assets of Community Value applications.
Maintain excellent client relationships and provide high-quality advice to internal stakeholders.
Use case management systems (IKEN or similar) effectively for case tracking and management.

Requirements

Valid Practising Certificate (Solicitor)
Proven experience in property law particularly:
- Right to Buy and buy-back transactions
- Sale and purchase of properties
- Consent orders
- Lease extensions and renewals
- Assets of Community Value applications
Strong communication and client relationship skills
Experience using IKEN or other case management systems

Working Arrangements

Hybrid working with in-office attendance every Monday
21 hours per week across 3 days (7 hours per day)
Fridays are non-working
