THE OPPORTUNITY

The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Student Support Services team for a t emporary p art-time opportunity in the capacity of Speech Language Pathologist.


Location: Various locations within the Board

Note: School location/geographical area cannot be guaranteed in perpetuity and are subject to change based on student and system needs.

FTE and Hours: 0.1 FTE; 3.5 hours per week

Base Salary Range: $78219 - $98447 per year (based on 1.0 FTE full-time annual salary) plus applicable vacation pay in accordance with the ESA; wage rate effective September 1 2025

Labour Market Adjustment: A 6.0% labour market adjustment to be applied to the base salary range; salary range inclusive of market adjustment is $ 82912 - $104354 per year (based on 1.0 FTE full-time annual salary) plus applicable vacation pay in accordance with the ESA; wage rate effective September 1 2025

Note: Labour market adjustment may fluctuate based on local market and at discretion of the Board.

Start Date : To commence as soon as possible

End Date: Anticipated end date of March 5 2026 with possibility of extension or may end earlier than anticipated

Board Information: 10-month position (yearly from September June following the school year calendar); temporary; part-time; Professional Student Services Personnel (PSSP) Union

Reporting to the Manager of Communication Language & Speech Services the responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist are as follows:

Responsibilities:

  • Provides a range of services to the K-12 population with an emphasis on students with communication disorders in K-2 who are at risk for academic challenges.
  • This service is available through an S-LP/mediator team offering a range of direct and indirect approaches.
  • Works collaboratively with other UGDSB professionals and educators to support students communication skills.
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Speech-Language Pathologist Masters degree or equivalent; must be registered with College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists
  • Applicants should be highly skilled creative flexible enthusiastic and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Applicants should enjoy problem solving independently and within a team framework
  • Experience in a school setting with a consultative model would be preferable
  • Experience working with and supervising supportive personnel would be an asset
  • Valid drivers licence and a reliable vehicle are required
