Job Summary:

The IVO / Infusion Coordinator works under the direction and supervision of the Infusion Charge Nurse in the management of day-to-day activities of the clerical flow of the CMC Infusion Suites. Responsible for the scheduling and coordinating of insurance authorization approved treatments. Coordinates patient infusion(s) and/or combined provider/infusion appointments provider orders and IVO referrals. Management of infusion chair schedules in conjunction with provider visits and available resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent Required. Minimum: 1-2 years of experience in Infusion Scheduling and/or Oncology Clinic experience preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Coordination of IVO referrals from CMC and outside CMC providers to ensure all appropriate documentation and drug authorization is acquired prior to scheduling of the patient for treatment. Arrange weekend/holiday IVO appointments with the House Supervisor.

Scheduling patients for initial and follow-up treatments at the direction of the Infusion Charge Nurse and/or provider orders. Communicating appointments to the patient. Manages no show appointments and sends appropriate correspondence per guidelines/policy.

Escorts patients from the waiting room to the infusion suites at the direction of the Infusion Charge Nurse obtaining weight and other delegated tasks. Updating Tracking board and chair assignments. Cleaning infusion chair(s) and treatment space(s) to keep patient flow and appointment times on schedule.

Management of clerical duties of the Infusion Suites for Oncology & IVO patient treatments including but not limited to consent for treatment current Provider Note (History & Physical) insurance authorization current orders laboratory testing. Processing orders written by the Oncology Provider when the patient is seen in the Infusion Suites by the Oncology Provider.

Proficient in all computer applications of CMC and documents appropriately in the EMR.

Works with the Pharmacists and Pharmacy staff for drug procurement and availability.

Orders and maintains stock of patient nutritional supplies and refreshment areas for the Infusion Suites and the Cancer Center stock.

Follows all CMC policies and procedures maintains a clean/neat workspace works in a professional manner and exhibits good communication skills with staff providers and patients.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
