Accountabilities:
- Continuously explore ways and identify opportunities to reduce freight costs
- Continuously plan analyze and optimize transportation network
- Build plan and route loads in TMS
- Manage appointment scheduling requirements relative to delivery plan to optimize highest levels of service at lowest landed cost
- Track execution of loads against relevant milestones to identify delays risks in transit and keep relevant stakeholders informed with updates
- Proactively interact with carriers to ensure unimpeded transportation process to minimize delays of deliverables (i.e. actual arrival and departure times PODs etc.)
- Act as liaison between Customer Supply Chain Fulfillment and carriers
Key Metrics & Financial Targets:
- Carrier KPIs on-time performance tender acceptance routing guide compliance
- COGS
Own:
- Execution of order lifecycle planning to delivery
- Carrier selection in spot market workflow
Influence:
- Carrier network decisions based on performance needs
- Able to advise as a transportation team SME for business
Critical Stakeholders and Relationships:
- Internal Customer Supply Chain Planners Fulfillment Warehouses
- External Partner carriers TMS provider distributors copackers
Qualifications Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in business supply chain or relevant field
- 2-3 years progressive experience in logistics transportation or warehouse operations
- Experience working with TMS platforms required
