Were looking for an accomplished DevOps Engineer II (Observability) to help enhance the monitoring and visibility of our mission-critical systems. Youll play a pivotal role in implementing robust observability solutions and ensuring the reliability and performance of our services. Working closely with the SRE and development teams you will champion best practices in monitoring logging and alerting to maintain high uptime. Youll report to the DevX Manager overseeing Observability and participate in our 247 on-call rotation to ensure maximum service availability.

What Youll Do
- Oversee and improve the observability performance and reliability of key production services from system design through deployment.
- Develop and maintain resilient monitoring logging and tracing infrastructure collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive system visibility.
- Provide guidance on best practices for instrumentation and telemetry to engineers across the organization fostering a culture of proactive monitoring and alerting.
- Contribute to our 247 on-call rotation responding to alerts and ensuring uninterrupted availability of critical services.
- Drive standardization of observability tools and documentation to promote efficiency consistency and knowledge sharing.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 35 years experience in DevOps SRE or Software Engineering roles.
- Extensive experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus Grafana ELK stack or similar) and a strong understanding of observability practices.
- Hands-on proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Ansible Puppet Terraform) for managing and provisioning infrastructure.
- Strong programming skills in an object-oriented language and effective scripting abilities for automation tasks.
- Deep knowledge of cloud environments (AWS and/or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) at scale.
- Solid foundation in security best practices networking fundamentals and system administration (Linux and/or Windows).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and software delivery automation as well as understanding of SRE principles (SLIs SLOs SLAs toil uptime).
