POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cardiopulmonary Rehab Registered Nurse is a licensed professional who provides patient education care and exercise programs in accordance with the standards policies and practices of Enloe Medical Center. The Cardiopulmonary Rehab Registered Nurse collaborates with the individual family physician interdisciplinary team and payor to plan organize coordinate and monitor the provision of quality efficacious healthcare services and resources to promote optimal clinical financial and satisfaction outcomes. The education training exercise programs and support are designed to help individuals develop the knowledge and skills they need to recover and make lifestyle changes that will help them improve their health.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

  • One year experience in acute care nursing
  • Completion of a basic arrhythmia class (within 6 months of hire) (dept tracks)
  • Completion of a 12 lead EKG class (within 6 months of hire) (dept tracks)

Desired:

  • One year of critical care nursing experience
  • Experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation
  • Background in disease management
  • Adept in behavioral/lifestyle change processes to assist patients in adopting cardiac nutrition exercise and stress management strategies
  • One year experience in a leadership role (including: Relief Charge Designated Charge or other Manager or higher level position)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

  • Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current ACLS certification

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Must demonstrate technical competence professional clinical judgment and good communication skills. Must be able to interact professionally and effectively communicate with physicians staff patients and public. Must show sensitivity for the hospitalized patient and family. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
