The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Capability Lead who will not only contribute as a senior developer but also drive capability-building initiatives within the team. This role requires deep expertise in Java and related technologies the ability to design and implement scalable applications and strong leadership skills to mentor coach and elevate the technical proficiency of peers. The Senior Java Capability Lead will serve as both a hands-on developer and a capability builder ensuring alignment with best practices security and business goals.

Your Team

We are a team of young and eager adventurers. You will enjoy the collaboration of team members within the project and capability. You will also get the opportunity to work with external stakeholders in the successful completion of project objectives.

You will work closely with our business partners the household brands in technology such as Amazon Web Services Google Cloud Microsoft and Outsystems.

Your Responsibilities

Developing System Applications

• Design code and implement Java-based business solutions using modern frameworks and tools.
• Manage application configuration version control and DevOps process setup for efficient delivery.
• Guide developers on technical components ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.

Testing and Quality Assurance

• Lead end-to-end testing to ensure product reliability and alignment with business requirements.
• Enforce quality standards through code reviews and validation of team deliverables.
• Conduct scenario testing across legacy and new systems to ensure functional stability.

Software Architecture and Methodology

• Apply software architecture principles and methodologies to design integrated applications.
• Ensure alignment of development practices with Agile DevOps or other chosen frameworks.
• Drive architectural improvements to enhance performance scalability and maintainability.

Customer Partnership

• Collaborate with clients to define requirements clarify scope and align deliverables with contracts.
• Manage escalations resolve complex incidents and identify preventive measures through root-cause analysis.
• Build trust with customers by providing solutions that meet technical and business objectives.

Security and Compliance

• Ensure adherence to customer IT security and data protection standards across development activities.
• Implement proactive measures to mitigate risks and address compliance gaps.
• Promote secure coding practices and continuous monitoring for potential vulnerabilities.

Pre-Sales Responsibilities

• Act as the Java solutions expert during pre-sales providing technical consultancy and architecture guidance.
• Collaborate with sales and business development teams to position Java solutions and craft winning proposals.
• Address client technical inquiries and present scalable value-driven solution designs with supporting documentation.

Strategic Thinking

• Anticipate emerging technologies and align Java development strategies with business objectives.
• Drive innovation through adoption of new frameworks and scalable software practices.
• Integrate commercial awareness into solution planning for greater business impact.

Coaching and Development

• Mentor developers through structured learning programs workshops and code reviews.
• Monitor team performance against KRAs and provide actionable feedback for growth.
• Build succession plans and develop future technical leaders within the organization.

Continuous Improvement & Best Practices

• Establish and enforce coding standards design patterns and testing frameworks.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery efficiency and product quality.
• Foster a culture of collaboration experimentation and knowledge sharing across teams.

About You

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
• 5 - 7 years of professional experience with strong proficiency in:Spring Framework (MVC Security Dependency Injection) Java Server Pages (JSP)
• Web technologies (HTML CSS JavaScript) Any of Angular / AngularJS / TypeScript / ReactJS / NextJS
• Databases (SQL JDBC JPA)
• RESTful services (consumer and producer)
• OWASP security practices
• GitHub / Bitbucket version control
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across executives managers technical teams and customers.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking with attention to detail.
