Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

• Provides primary vision care

• Conducts eye examinations to diagnose vision problems and ocular diseases

• Measures patients visual perception acuity focus and coordination ability

• Analyzes test results and develops a treatment plan

• Utilizes diagnostic procedures and eye drops to aid in the diagnosis of vision problems and prescribes pharmaceutics to treat eye diseases

• Diagnoses conditions caused by systemic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension referring patients to other health practitioners in Crossovers practice as needed

• Ensures clinic areas and instrumentation meet quality compliance standards

• Manages communication with patients other Crossover practitioners and optical partners to support quality clinical care

• Committed to patient satisfaction providing excellent service and delivering an outstanding eye care experience

• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years demonstrated success in patient-centered optometry practice

• Active license to practice optometry in applicable state

• Graduate of an accredited school of Optometry

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes

• Strong organizational and follow-through skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Job Requirements

• May require standing walking and sitting for extended amounts of time.

• Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination

• Includes full range of body motion including potential of handling and lifting patients.

• Requires corrected vision hearing and speech within normal ranges. Must be able to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
