Purpose:

The PANTHERx Rare Pharmacy Fellowship Program offers a unique and distinctive opportunity to interface with patients healthcare providers health plans and manufacturers to effectively optimize patient outcomes. Completion of this program will result in a highly knowledgeable pharmacist competent in both clinical and business aspects of rare pharmacy management. Our fellows will have opportunities to work in the areas of Business & Pharmacy Operations Quality Improvement & Clinical Education Pharmacy Analytics & Reporting Business Development Strategic Partnerships & Managed Markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs focused evidence-based comprehensive disease and medication therapy management services for patients living with rare disease states.
  • Interacts with prescribers patients and partners to optimize the unique and complex care of rare patients.
  • Analyzes develops and implements quality improvement initiatives including pharmacovigilance to further enhance medication safety.
  • Participates in the development and analysis of clinical initiatives focused on enhancing patient therapeutic outcomes.
  • Develops skills required for medication pipeline analysis management and market forecasting.
  • Understands specialty medication supply chain inventory management and the impact on pharmacy operations.
  • Participates in quarterly business reviews and interfaces with industry partners.
  • Gains an understanding of accreditation and regulatory standards compliance reporting and auditing.
  • Develops clinical resources to support professional development of internal colleagues.
  • Provides clinical and drug information support to healthcare providers and patients.
  • Coordinates and completes a focused research project and submit a manuscript to a peer-reviewed journal.
  • Cultivates leadership analytical and communication skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a college or school of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education
  • Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
