Position: LONG TERM SUB - Special Education TeacherStarting immediately through approximately March 3 2026The role of a Student Support Liaison or Special Education Teacher is to teach support collaborate and problem-solve with colleagues to meet the needs of students. A liaisons responsibilities are:
- Teach specific content classes
- Teach executive functioning skills
- Support students in general education classes
- Support general education teachers with adhering to appropriate accommodations
- Demonstrate an understanding of the IEP process
- Facilitate annual IEP meetings
- Conduct reevaluation assessments
- Collaborate and develop IEPs
- Communicate with colleagues students and caregivers/guardians
- Communicate student progress and development to caregivers/guardians
- Provide written assessments referrals and evaluations when necessary
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of district and school curriculum goals with UDL implementation
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons units projects and communicate these objectives to students
- Plan instruction based upon explicit goals and data regarding what students should know and be able to do
- Carry out the schools rules and procedures as outlined in the student handbook in a fair and just manner
- Participate in professional growth opportunities
- Model learning and behavior consistent with the expectations for students
- Attend staff or team meetings and serve on staff committees as necessary
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum and instructional effectiveness with all students
Additional Requirements:
- Meets all state licensure standards
- Familiar with eSped and all aspects of MA Special Education Regulations
- Experience with conducting academic assessments
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
