Your role and responsibilities

As a Senior Social Worker in this team you will

  • supervise foster carers who are offering short term emergency short break and permanent foster placements
  • provide statutory supervision and support to Foster Carers undertaking annual reviews and all statutory checks on fostering households within expected timescales (required by Fostering Standards Regulations and guidance)
  • work alongside childcare professionals to support children in their foster placements with regular communication and attendance at meetings
  • need to provide good quality thorough and analytical recording and reports
  • can facilitate support groups and other learning opportunities for foster carers
  • take a supportive role in practice development and work closely with the Consultant Social Worker and take a lead role in an area of practice
  • have the opportunity to participate in monthly team supervision as well as individual supervision
  • may need to provide occasional supervision visits to fostering households outside of usual office hours.

You will need

  • A relevant social work qualification and Social Work England registration is essential
