Job Summary

We are seeking an Executive Assistant (EA) for the Chief Legal Officer of Western Digital.

Reporting to the CLO you will partner closely with the CLOs Chief of Staff and other senior Legal leaders to execute the legal agenda.

In this role you will be trusted to work with the highest level of confidentiality understanding the needs of a CLO while carefully balancing relationship building across the business and with external stakeholders. You will need to be organized and innovative while thriving in a fast-paced environment. You must have a can-do attitude and be willing to pitch in and help others to execute effectively and efficiently.

You will need to have strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities. A strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain the utmost level of discretion and professionalism is required.

The ability to take initiative and to work both independently and as part of a team is vital.

Supporting a CLO for a company spread across the globe at times you will need to be flexible with working hours and self-time management will be necessary.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Calendar Management: ensure the CLOs time is well organized and used to best support the goals of legal and the broader company ensuring the CLOs complex calendar is up to date at all times.
  • Meeting Planning and Organization: Assist the Legal Chief of Staff in the planning and organizing of internal and external meetings team offsites country visits and other meetings.
  • General Enquiries: Act as the source for enquiries into the CLOs office and the ability to refer routine matters to appropriate parties.
  • Correspondence/Approvals: Act as a proxy for communications and approvals where applicable.
  • Tool Management: Manage expense reports SOWs and POs and be savvy with WDs internal tools such as M365 Co-Pilot OneDrive etc.
  • Briefing Documents: Manage briefing documents for key internal/external meetings and create briefing packets for business trips.
  • Communication: Facilitate seamless communication between the CLO and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Projects: Partners with Legal Chief of Staff and other senior Legal leaders on special projects as needed.
  • Travel: Manage the CLOs travel needs including planning optimum travel arrangements arranging ground transport and hotel arrangements processing of passports visas etc.
  • Community: Build the necessary communities to further drive your own development and to support your peers across the business.
  • Partnerships: Be proactive in working with the ELT EA community to address issues manage schedule conflicts etc.
  • Board of Directors: Scheduling Board and committee meetings and meetings with management or other Board members and managing board travel and expenses.
  • Relationship Building: Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization and with key external partners and Board of Directors.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 8 years supporting an Executive Vice President / Senior Vice President (equivalent) of a large public company preferably a Chief Legal Officer
  • Extensive experience liaising with a Board of Directors for a large public company.
  • Advanced knowledge of desktop computer applications such as Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint One Drive SharePoint
  • Highly organized resourceful and detail-oriented
  • Thrives under pressure and adapts quickly to changing priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • Proactive resourceful and solutions-oriented.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and at a fast pace.
  • Utmost integrity and professionalism

  • Must be a team player able to work across multiple different teams
  • Ability to carefully manage the time of the CLO while also ensuring legal is approachable and easy to deal with

  • High emotional intelligence and interpersonal acumen.
  • Daily presence at WDs Great Oaks office is required.
