Senior Project Manager Data Centre

Turner & Townsend is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join our Data Centre team in the Middle East.

In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery from inception through to commissioning.

Key Attributes and Duties: 

The individual in this role should have both a strong pre contract and post contract full life cycle delivery background. You will show excellent management and interpersonal skills have an engaging approach and possess a very strong core technical skillset with an understanding of construction an appreciation of commercial and have contractual awareness. 

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all mechanical pre-construction activities including design constructability procurement contracts and budget planning
• Developing working relationships problem solving and driving projects to successful completion
• Managing the design process to achieve the clients requirements and manage expectations
• Reviewing project plans and specifications scheduling costs saving measures discrepancies potential construction problems etc
• Managing project safety and environmental requirements
• Managing project timelines risks and reporting
• Managing project budgets and advising on options to keep budget on track
• Being engaged with marketing and business development initiatives
• Co-ordinating vendor scope with overall project delivery
• Contract Execution: Drafting contract documents in strict accordance with legal approved contract templates. Working closely with project team/s to ensure effective and timely document processing and management of contract documents
• Bring strong communication conflict resolution and negotiation skills

Qualifications :

• Degree in a Construction Management or related field
• Track record of delivering the construction of hyperscale Data Centre projects from inception to completion
• A minimum of 10 years project management experience
• Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred 
• Key technical competencies include:
  • Data Centre Design and Development
  • Data Centre Management
  • Data Centre Construction
  • Construction Engineering
  • Tenant Liaison/coordination

• Professionally qualified in one of the following fields: construction project management engineering or architecture.
• A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle from project conception stage through all the operational stages to completion and post-project review.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of all the main project management concepts tools and techniques.
• Design management or construction experience gained within the general construction environment. ideally residential office fit-outs and health & education
• Excellent knowledge and experience of all the main project management concepts tools and techniques
• Ability to thrive in a high pressure fast paced environment
• Advanced Microsoft skills are essential and Primavera skills will be highly regarded
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
