Health Services Administrator

The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) is seeking a Health Services Administrator to supervise and evaluate multidisciplinary healthcare services for a treatment unit that operates 24 hours per day 7 days a week.
-Serve as the designee of the Responsible Health Authority (RHA) to ensure that health services are organized adequate and efficient. Work onsite at Adobe Mountain School daily. Arrange for all levels of healthcare and ensure quality accessible and timely health services.
-Supervise the Nurse Program Administrator in the Adobe Mountain School Health Unit to ensure comprehensive service delivery 24 hours per day 7 days per week. Oversee work schedules for nursing and ancillary staff (dental assistant appointment scheduler etc.). Supervisor clinic functions including staffing service delivery and coordination of patient movement. Oversee scheduling of offsite and telehealth services. Coordinate diagnostic services (e.g. radiology and laboratory testing).
-Coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Medical Advisory Committee Infection Control Youth Occupational Health Pharmacy and Therapeutics). Maintain documentation and meeting minutes. Ensure that administrative tasks are maintained including nursing credentialing training logs continuing education electronic health records access and UpToDate access.
-Prepare for onsite surveys and inspections (e.g. NCCHC surveys Vaccination for Children etc.). Collaborate with the RHA and Quality Assurance manager to develop policies and procedures and standard work documents. Work with the Quality Assurance Manager and security operation on CQI initiatives.
-Establish education and training programs for Health and custody staff.
-Collaborate with the RHA to monitor budgets/expenditures and establish contracts with outside entities (e.g. lab testing diagnostic testing clinic supplies) when necessary.

The preferred candidate for this position will have a National Commission on Correctional Health Care Certificate and experience working as a nursing supervisor in the public sector working with adolescents in an acute care setting in emergency/urgent care setting in a psychiatry setting.
Bachelors Degree in Nursing five years experience working with patients and three years of correctional healthcare experience preferred.

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license records checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked or suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.010).
