Position Overview:
NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach ARET 160C: Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This course provides students with essential knowledge for NHTIs engineering technology programs focusing on practical applications and real-world relevance.

Lecture Hours: 3 hours weekly
Lab/Practicum Hours: 2 hours weekly
Schedule and Location: Schedule to be determined on our Concord NH campus

Course Description:
An introduction to geographic information systems (GIS) global positioning systems (GPS) and ESRIs ArcGIS. Topics will include basic GIS concepts; the structure and availability of GIS data; the N.H. GIS database; creation of maps; editing and creation of GIS data; the use of GPS to collect information for use in GIS; and GIS processing and analysis. The course will combine lectures hands-on exercises and an individual student project over the course of the semester.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach the assigned course using curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
Facilitate class discussion board interaction assignments and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Masters degree in the subject area or a closely related area
Experience: Prior teaching experience and familiarity with Canvas or a similar Learning Management System preferred.
Residency: Must reside in NH VT ME MA RI or CT.
