Job Summary

The Bowery Mission is a Christian faith-based organization committed since the 1870s to serving people experiencing homelessness hunger and poverty. The Program Coordinator is an integral part of the Childrens Program team. Reporting to the Associate Director Childrens Programs or Supervisor Mont Lawn City Camp the Program Associate supports Mont Lawn City Camps program development and success. The Program Coordinator teaches/facilitates classes assists other teachers and contributes to site coverage. Supports curriculum writing with a focus on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills. Recruits and enrolls campers. Assists in event planning logistics and camper transportation. Provides key support to Leadership Academy. Corresponds with parents/caregiver according to staff guidelines. Promptly and accurately records program data.



Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support City Camp program and class coverage and development creating a safe and welcoming environment for children and families to learn and grow in connection with God and one another.
  • Teach/facilitate classes assist teacher distribute class supplies and track attendance. Ensure a Christ-centered teaching approach.
  • Correspond with parents/caregivers as needed and according to staff guidelines.
  • Oversee interns and volunteers in several of their day-to-day tasks.
  • Support team in recruiting and enrolling campers for City Camp program offerings. Recruit and enroll City Camp campers into Mont Lawn Summer Camp.
  • Assist in planning and delivering services for three major events annually. Support program logistics and camper transportation.
  • Communicate event plans to parents/caregivers with particular emphasis on pick-up/drop-off safety protocols.
  • Support Leadership Academy through lesson facilitation chaperoning during trips supply distribution mentor check-in parent/caregiver correspondence.
  • Maintain efficient records related to class attendance surveys and other program metrics and offerings (i.e. Leadership Academy tutoring events).



Schedule: Monday-Friday: 2:30pm- 6:30pm



Requirements:

  • Embraces the organizations Statement of Faith.
  • 2 years assisting in childrens ministry non-profit organizations human services customer service or related fields providing support to managers/specialists.
  • Bachelor of Arts or equivalent work and education.
  • Professional boundaries.
  • Confidentiality standards.

Preferred:

  • Youth Mental Health First Aid.
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention.
  • CPR/First Aid.
  • F-02 Fire Safety.
  • Mandated Reporter Training.



Compensation: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour; compensation commensurate with experience and education
