DevOps Platform Engineer

Overview:
Talent Hive is looking for a DevOps Platform Engineer to manage and optimize Jira SaaS within a government cloud environment. This role involves administering Jira integrating it with existing platforms and enabling Agile practices across the organization.

Work Location: Washington DC (Near McPherson Square metro)

Key Responsibilities:

• Jira Administration & Optimization:

Configure and optimize Jira SaaS for Agile delivery across the enterprise.

Manage Jira workflows issue types fields screens and automation rules.

Oversee user permissions governance and security measures.

Track license usage and collaborate with procurement for renewals.

• System Integration:

Design and maintain integrations between Jira GitLab and ServiceNow.

Utilize Okta REST APIs and middleware to automate data synchronization.

Troubleshoot integration pipelines and ensure compliance with security standards.

Develop technical documentation and best practices for integrations.

• Agile Enablement:

Work with the Agile Transformation Office to tailor Jira for Agile practices (Scrum Kanban SAFe).

Guide Scrum Masters and Product Owners in optimizing Jira usage.

Support Agile reporting and metrics (velocity burndown cycle time).

Aid in the migration from Azure DevOps and GitLab to Jira SaaS.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience).

5-6 years of overall relevant professional experience.

3 years of hands-on experience with Jira (self-hosted or SaaS).

Expertise in integrating platforms like GitLab and ServiceNow.

Strong skills in scripting (Python PowerShell JavaScript) and REST APIs.

Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.

Experience migrating from Azure DevOps GitLab or similar tools to Jira.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the Atlassian ecosystem (Confluence Bitbucket).

• Experience in DevSecOps or Platform Engineering.

• Knowledge of compliance standards (FISMA SOX FedRAMP).

• Federal government experience is a plus.

• Atlassian certifications (ACP-620 ACP-120) are preferred.

Deliverables:

• Administer and configure Jira SaaS within the government cloud.

• Lead the transition from Azure DevOps and GitLab to Jira SaaS.

• Build secure integrations between Jira ServiceNow and GitLab.
