After successfully completing the program you will be able to perform professional duties in the application of ultrasonography services demonstrating proficiency in all ultrasound examinations and related patient care procedures.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency in preparing patients for procedures
- Correctly performs all prescribed Ultrasound procedures in an efficient manner
- Works independently and critiques exams
- Problem Solving skills
- Competent in the storage and transferring of images
- Responsible for regular rotation of on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications
Experience
Clinical patient-facing experience preferred.
Education Requirements
Successful completion of prerequisite coursework through Washburn University or transfer-equivalent credits.
Only one course is required in each category:
Communication
Examples: English Composition SpeechMathematics
Examples: Intermediate Algebra Algebra Statistics TrigonometryPhysics
Examples: General Physics (lab not required) or Radiographic Physics (for students in or graduated from a Radiologic Technology program)Medical Terminology
Human Anatomy*
Human Physiology*
* Anatomy and Physiology may be taken as a combined course if it is 5 credit hours or more.
Additional Notes
These prerequisites are not required to apply but must be completed before the Summer 2026 semester to prepare for the cohort beginning Fall 2026.
Program Admission Requirement
Acceptance into the Washburn University Sonography Program
(Not required at the time of job application but required before program start.)
