Job Summary
POSITION TITLE: CUSTODIAN
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma or G.E.D.
2. Basic custodial skills
REPORTS TO: Lead Maintenance
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Change light bulbs.
- Clean windows walls rugs janitor closets lights and picks up trash around school buildings.
- Dust mop and wet mop class rooms offices bathrooms stairs hallways gym and boiler room.
- Set up and clean cafeteria for breakfast and lunch.
- Open and secure building A.M. and P.M.
- Prepare maintenance reports and request for Superintendent.
- Complies with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and waste.
- Repair minor plumbing and electrical problems.
- Order supplies and unload supplies.
- Responds to emergency clean ups and spills.
- Practices safety rules.
- Summer cleaning: Strip and wax floors wash all furniture wash filters clean air conditioners and blowers. Move and arrange furniture within building as required.
- Operate cleaning equipment: vacuums floor strippers cleaning buffer and polisher and carpet shampooer.
- Apply all school and district policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with students staff and community.
- Perform various other duties as assigned by supervisor.
