Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines drivetrains suspension systems brakes and electrical components on light- medium- or heavy-duty vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections in accordance with dealership and manufacturer guidelines.
- Utilize factory diagnostic tools equipment and software to accurately identify issues and complete repairs.
- Complete repair orders efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Communicate with service advisors regarding required repairs additional work and estimated completion times.
- Document all work performed in compliance with dealership and manufacturer requirements.
- Participate in manufacturer training programs and maintain up-to-date certifications.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe workspace.
- Assist other technicians and support teamwork across the service department.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in diesel technology preferred.
- 2 years of hands-on experience as a diesel technician (dealership experience strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with manufacturer diagnostic software and repair protocols (e.g. Cummins INSITE Ford IDS GM GDS2 etc.).
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines fuel systems hydraulics and electrical diagnostics.
- Valid drivers license; CDL or state inspection license a plus.
- ASE or OEM certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain).
