Global Study Manager

Introduction to role:

This role is based in Barcelona with an on-site commitment of three days a week. Fluency in English is required.

Are you ready to make a difference in the world of clinical research As a Global Study Manager (GSM) at AstraZeneca youll be at the heart of delivering clinical studies from inception to completion. Youll collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure the successful execution of clinical trials across various therapeutic areas and phases. Your role will involve driving discussions overseeing vendor activities and providing crucial updates and metrics. Accountabilities:

- Strategize set up and oversee key vendors to meet study deliverables within agreed timelines budget and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Data Management Procurement Regulatory Patient Safety Quality Assurance and external functions to ensure efficient study delivery.
- Contribute to planning and conducting internal and external meetings.
- Support the Study Lead with budget management and invoice reconciliation.
- Develop and maintain relevant study documents and plans.
- Perform Study Lead activities for less-complex studies.
- Delegate and oversee team member responsibilities.
- Conduct lessons learned exercises for continuous improvement.
- Participate in or lead departmental initiatives.
- Coordinate and report start-up and recruitment activities globally.
- Monitor and oversee site activities globally for assigned studies.
- Aggregate and communicate deliverables for assigned studies.
- Resource and train CRAs for assigned studies.
- Develop or review applicable study documents.
- Coordinate country team activities related to key study events.
- Oversee post-trial access and site close-out activities.

Essential Skills/Experience:

- >5 years of clinical research experience 3 of which in a leading role accountable for the planning and execution of global clinical trials.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in clinical practice/health care life sciences or drug development or commensurate work experience.
- Excellent organizational communication and time management skills.
- Highly proactive and willing to take initiative.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Ability to use a computer; engage in communications via phone video and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

- PMP certification desirable.
