Key responsibilities include:

Lead user research initiatives and journey mapping to gain deep insights into user interactions and identify opportunities for optimization.

Proven UX Design Experience: Extensive portfolio demonstrating expertise in user research information architecture wireframing prototyping (low and high-fidelity) and usability testing.

Develop wireframes prototypes and visual hierarchies in accordance with established accessibility guidelines and branding standards.

Collaborate with Code for America and cross-functional teams to apply industry best practices in UI/UX design.

Engage in discovery workshops feedback sessions and sprint planning to ensure that design decisions are aligned with business objectives.

Employ a comprehensive suite of toolsincluding Figma Adobe XD Sketch and Hotjarand implement usability testing responsive design and SEO optimization strategies.

Experience with AI/ML Interfaces: Demonstrated experience designing user interfaces for systems that incorporate Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning with a focus on explainable AI (XAI) and human-AI interaction principles.

Complex System Design: Ability to understand and design for complex business logic and regulatory requirements particularly in domains like government services healthcare or finance.

Data Visualization: Skill in presenting complex data and AI insights in a clear concise and understandable visual format.

Empathy and User Advocacy: Deep commitment to understanding user needs and advocating for user-centered design principles.

Collaboration & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present design solutions to stakeholders.

Understanding of Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of WCAG and other accessibility guidelines to ensure inclusive design.

Bonus: Experience with eligibility determination systems or similar rule-based data-intensive applications.

CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

8 Years-Required-Hands-on experience designing user interfaces and experiences for enterprise systems including wireframes prototypes and visual hierarchies using tools like Figma Adobe XD and Sketch.

8 Years -Required-Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams translating business needs into intuitive design solutions that align with accessibility and branding standards.

5 Years -Required-Experience applying UX design principles such as hierarchy contrast and alignment to create responsive and accessible web and mobile interfaces.

4 Years -Required-Experience creating wireframes and prototypes that support agile development cycles including sketch-to-visual fidelity transitions.

5 Years -Preferred-Experience designing graphical diagrams and visual narratives to communicate timelines workflows and system architecture.

3-Preferred-Demonstrated ability to facilitate design workshops and feedback sessions with stakeholders ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.

3-Preferred-Bachelors degree in graphic design Human-Computer Interaction Computer Science or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.

3-Preferred-Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort.
