Job Summary
Location: Downingtown PA
Position Summary
The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily transportation activities scheduling drivers and equipment and ensuring safe compliant and efficient service. This role supports field operations customer service and regulatory requirements by maintaining clear communication and accurate scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
*Schedule and assign trucks drivers and equipment based on job requirements.
*Communicate job details route information and updates to drivers and field teams.
*Monitor routes vehicle status and driver hours to ensure compliance with DOT and safety regulations.
*Process and track job documentation including work orders manifests permits and related paperwork.
*Respond to scheduling issues delays equipment problems and last-minute changes.
*Update dispatch logs tracking systems and daily schedules.
*Coordinate with operations and customer service teams to meet service deadlines.
*Support after-hours or emergency dispatch needs when required.
Qualifications
*High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or transportation is a plus.
*Previous dispatching experience (transportation industrial environmental or waste services preferred).
*Working knowledge of DOT/HOS regulations and basic transportation compliance.
*Strong communication and multitasking skills.
*Proficiency with dispatching software GPS systems and Microsoft Office.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to shifting priorities.
*Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions
*Office-based role with extended computer and phone use.
*May require occasional on-call or after-hours support.
*Fast-paced scheduling environment with frequent changes.
