The Loom Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the looms used in the production of polypropylene (PP) woven fabrics for bags and FIBC products. The role ensures efficient weaving operations high-quality output and minimal downtime of machinery.
Operate shuttleless or rapier looms to produce PP woven fabrics as per production schedules.
Monitor loom operations including speed tension and pattern settings to ensure consistent fabric quality.
Conduct routine inspections of looms detecting and correcting issues such as broken warp/weft threads or mechanical faults.
Perform minor maintenance lubrication and cleaning of looms to ensure smooth operations.
Collaborate with the production team to meet daily production targets and quality standards.
Keep accurate production records including output machine performance and any incidents of downtime.
Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and safe handling of machinery and materials.
Report any major mechanical issues to the maintenance department for timely resolution.
Proven experience as a Loom Operator in PP woven bag or FIBC manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of loom mechanics threading and weaving techniques.
Ability to read and understand technical specifications and production requirements.
Hands-on experience in routine maintenance troubleshooting and minor repairs of looms.
Attention to detail consistency and ability to maintain high-quality fabric output.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet targets.
Experience with high-speed shuttleless or rapier looms.
Knowledge of different types of PP woven fabrics and their applications in bags/FIBC.
Familiarity with quality control standards in woven fabric production.
Ability to stand for long periods and perform manual adjustments on looms.
Ability to lift and handle rolls of PP woven fabric or related materials.
