Certified Scaffolders

The Certified Scaffolder is a skilled tradesperson responsible for the safe precise and timely erection alteration and dismantling of complex scaffolding structures according to approved designs engineering specifications and stringent safety standards. This role requires adherence to all regulatory and internal safety protocols to provide secure elevated working platforms for other site teams.

Core Duties & Responsibilities (Briefs)

• Erection and Dismantling: Construct and disassemble various types of scaffolding (e.g. tube and coupler modular system scaffolds) following detailed structural drawings and specifications.
  

• Material Inspection: Inspect all scaffolding components (tubes couplers boards base plates) for defects corrosion or damage before use rejecting any non-compliant materials.
  

• Structural Integrity: Ensure all scaffolds are erected plumb and level correctly tied to the structure and braced to withstand anticipated loads and environmental conditions.
  

• Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to all safety procedures including wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) working safely at heights and securing all tools.
  

• Maintenance and Modification: Safely alter or modify existing scaffolds under the direct supervision of the Scaffolding Foreman or Inspector ensuring structural integrity is maintained.
  

• Tagging and Handover: Ensure scaffolds are ready for inspection and assist the Scaffolding Inspector in the proper application and removal of scaffold tags before use.
  

Requirements

Key Requirements & Skills

• Experience: Proven practical experience as a scaffolder with demonstrable skill in large-scale commercial or industrial construction environments.
  

• Certification: Must possess a valid recognized Scaffolding Certification (e.g. CISRS CITB or equivalent local certification) for the relevant system being used.
  

• Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of scaffolding geometry load-bearing capacities and safe tie-in methods.
  

• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and follow scaffolding design plans and drawings accurately.
  

• Safety Mindset: Uncompromising commitment to working at height safety and best practices for material handling.
  

• Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and work confidently at elevated heights for extended periods
