Job Summary

Summary:

The O&M Operations Manager is responsible for the leadership and oversight of day-to-day operations across a portfolio of utility-scale solar facilities under long-term O&M contracts. This role also includes managing the warranty Manager ensuring effective coordination and resolution of warranty related activities across multiple EPC constructed facilities. This position ensures optimal plant performance safety compliance and client satisfaction. The Operations Manager provides direct supervision to the Regional Managers and Warranty Manager oversees plant production and drives continuous improvement initiatives across all operational functions.

This role requires strong technical expertise in solar plant operations including a deep understanding of SCADA systems inverter functionality and power plant performance management. The successful candidate will demonstrate proven leadership skills sound judgment and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management
  • Provide leadership and direction to Regional Managers and the Warranty Manager to ensure efficient and effective site operations.
  • Develop coach and evaluate team members to foster professional growth and maintain high performance standards.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety accountability and operational excellence across all teams.
  • Support staffing scheduling and resource allocation to meet operational demands and contractual obligations.
  • Operations Oversight
  • Oversee the performance production and reliability of all managed solar facilities.
  • Ensure that all sites meet or exceed contractual performance and availability guarantees.
  • Utilize SCADA systems and performance monitoring tools to analyze plant performance identify trends and support proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Lead root cause analyses for plant issues and coordinate troubleshooting efforts with internal and external technical resources.
  • Oversee the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance programs and ensure compliance with OEM and industry best practices.
  • Warranty and Performance Management
  • Manage and oversee warranty claims through the Warranty Manager ensuring timely coordination with OEMs and resolution of equipment issues.
  • Monitor and verify warranty coverage claim documentation and performance trends to mitigate downtime and optimize asset performance.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients asset owners and key stakeholders regarding operational performance and plant status.
  • Provide regular reporting and performance updates to clients and executive leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through clear communication and responsive service.
  • Compliance Safety & Quality
  • Ensure all operations comply with safety environmental and regulatory standards.
  • Support corporate initiatives for continuous improvement in quality assurance health and safety practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policy and client requirements.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering Renewable Energy or a related technical discipline required; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 58 years of experience in solar operations and maintenance including at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of utility-scale solar power systems including SCADA systems inverter controls trackers and plant monitoring software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for plant and inverter-level issues.
  • Excellent leadership interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and client relationships.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities with attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training preferred.

    WORK LOCATION:

    • Remote with regular travel to project sites and client locations is required.
    • Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops.
