Lets build a Seattle that works for everyonetogether!As a Senior Accountant youll support financial reporting billing and reimbursement processes for multimillion-dollar projects funded by federal state and local agencies. Youll ensure compliance with regulations from USDOT WSDOT and other funding entities while maintaining alignment with GAAP and City accounting standards.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge attention to detail and a thorough understanding of governmental and grant accounting principles. They are skilled in financial analysis problem-solving and data reconciliation and can interpret complex funding agreements and navigate multiple systems. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential as the position works closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies to resolve billing issues ensure compliance and support SDOTs delivery of critical transportation infrastructure projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field. Please note degree requires satisfactory completion of at least 24 semester hours or 36 quarter credit units in accounting with no substitution allowed.
Experience:
OR:An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position duties.

Work is typically performed in a hybrid work environment in which a minimum of 3 days of work is completed in a City office and 2 days of work is completed remotely in a regular 40-hour work week.

The Citys full salary range for this position is $46.40 - $54.02 hourly.
