Job Summary
The Component Designer is responsible for designing developing and optimizing components or sub systems that meet functional technical and performance requirements This role involves working closely with engineering product manufacturing and quality teams to create detailed component models drawings and specifications while ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational guidelinesKey ResponsibilitiesComponent Design DevelopmentDesign components based on engineering requirements functional specifications and system constraintsCreate detailed 2D 3D models drawings and technical documentation using CAD toolsEnsure designs meet performance safety manufacturability and cost targetsDevelop prototypes evaluate design feasibility and participate in design reviewsRequirements Analysis Engineering CollaborationUnderstand and interpret technical requirements user needs and system interfacesWork with mechanical electrical software and manufacturing engineers to integrate components into larger systemsConduct tolerance analysis materials selection and structural optimizationTesting Validation SupportSupport component testing validation and verification activitiesAnalyze test results and iterate designs to improve performance or resolve issuesEnsure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirementsDocumentation Change ManagementMaintain accurate design documentation including BOMs drawings and specificationsManage engineering change requests ECR ECO throughout the component lifecycleEnsure version control proper release processes and traceability of design updatesCross Functional CollaborationCollaborate with product teams to ensure component design aligns with functional goalsWork with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure design manufacturability and cost efficiencyParticipate in design reviews FMEA and DFMA activitiesRequired Skills Qualifications2 5 years of experience in component or product design based on hiring levelProficiency in CAD software e g SolidWorks CATIA NX Creo AutoCAD Fusion 360Strong understanding of materials manufacturing processes and design principlesAbility to interpret engineering drawings GD T and technical documentationGood analytical problem solving and communication skills
