Occupational Therapy Specialist
Location: Varnville SC
Duration: 13 Weeks (Extendable)
Shift: 58 Days 40 Hours/Week
Weekly Gross Pay: $2926
Position Overview
The Occupational Therapy Specialist provides therapeutic services by assessing student needs developing treatment plans and executing interventions prescribed by a licensed healthcare professional. This role supports functional skills development safety awareness and daily living capabilities for students.
Key Duties
- Complete therapy evaluations and generate individualized care plans.
- Perform assessments of cognition fine motor skills sensory processing ADLs coordination and ROM.
- Collaborate with students and families to gather relevant background information.
- Determine appropriate assessment methods and define long-term goals.
- Deliver customized therapy sessions and monitor progress.
- Produce timely documentation progress notes and reports.
- Maintain equipment and therapy materials.
- Safeguard student confidentiality per HIPAA/district policies.
- Assist with schedules checklists and inventories.
- Participate in quality-of-care initiatives and standards.
- Stay informed about professional/clinical OT updates.
- Maintain reliable attendance and follow district policies.
- Carry out duties as delegated by school administrators.
Qualifications
- Valid SC OT license (SC LLR).
- Accredited OT degree (BS or MS/MA).
- At least 2 years of pediatric/school-based OT experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Computer proficiency and strong documentation skills.
- Knowledge of terminology math grammar and relevant regulations.
Skills
- Positive student-centered communication.
- Flexibility and ability to multitask.
- Strong organizational habits.
- Competent with office equipment and school workflows.
Working Conditions
- May travel to school sites.
- Typical office/therapy environment.
