The Role: Associate Indirect Tax Operations
Our Team is growing! We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Indirect Tax Operations to join our newly established indirect tax operations hub in Warsaw. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or professionals early in their careers who are eager to develop their knowledge in indirect taxation (VAT GST sales tax etc.) within a dynamic global environment.
Youll work alongside experienced tax specialists and support the team in ensuring Maersks indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
Support preparation of indirect tax returns for non-complex or medium-complex entities including processing analysis exception checking & reconciliations in relation to indirect tax returns and tax payments
Gather and analyse transactional data from internal systems to support tax filings
Support the reconciliation of indirect tax accounts
Assist in responding to queries from tax authorities internal stakeholders and external auditors
Maintain tax documentation and support data archiving processes
Help monitor changes in indirect tax legislation and compliance requirements
Collaborate with finance accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate tax reporting

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (desirable in Accounting Finance Economics)
Interest in pursuing a career in indirect tax
Good analytical and numerical skills
Proficiency in Excel and an interest in working with data
Ability to learn quickly and work independently when needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English/ any other foreign language is considered as advantage
Team player mindset with a proactive approach
Nice to Have (but not required):
Internship or short experience in finance accounting or tax
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
Exposure to VAT/GST/Sales Tax principles (via coursework or research)
