We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Construction Inspector to join our Public Works Department responsible for inspecting roads utilities and other infrastructure improvements constructed as part of private development projects through all phases of construction and improvement. This advanced journey-level role offers the opportunity to apply independent judgment and initiative while ensuring compliance with codes regulations and quality standards.

What will you do in this position

Inspect and monitor complex private development projects including industrial commercial and residential through all construction phases to ensure improvements alterations and repairs comply with applicable State and local regulations.
Independently review plans and specifications of assigned work prior to permit issuance.
Perform field inspections to evaluate and validate the work performed; verifies quality of workmanship quality of materials used and compliance with plans specifications and applicable codes and regulations.
Proactively assist contractors with problems and concerns; anticipates problems and pursues solutions.
Assist the public and other agencies in matters relating to PWD projects; serves as a liaison between engineering operations contractors and developers; explains City codes policies procedures and regulations; provides information and recommendations.
