Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Labor & Delivery / MotherBaby (CWR)
Location: Brick NJ 08724
Schedule:
Shift: 6:30 PM 7:00 AM
Hours/Week: 36 (312-hour shifts)
Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
Holiday Requirement: None
On-Call: 1 per contract
Float Requirement: MotherBaby
Position Overview
A Labor & Delivery/MotherBaby unit is seeking an experienced RN to provide comprehensive patient-centered care for obstetric patients. The RN will assess plan implement and evaluate nursing care while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams. This role requires strong clinical judgment excellent communication and adherence to evidence-based nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and evaluate patients identifying needs and determining priorities for care
Develop implement and coordinate individualized plans of care based on ongoing assessments
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage overall patient care
Assist physicians with procedures and support the patient throughout labor delivery and postpartum care
Document nursing care according to standards of practice and unit guidelines
Advocate for and support evidence-based practice and innovations in care delivery
Provide compassionate patient-centric care consistent with professional nursing models
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 1 year of experience in a related specialty (L&D / MotherBaby)
Strong clinical assessment and patient-management skills
Education
Required: ASN
Preferred: BSN
Licensure & Certifications
Required:
BLS (AHA)
NRP
Active NJ RN license or Compact RN license
Preferred:
ACLS
Advanced AWHONN or EFM
NCC certification
Additional Requirements
Required hard skills: BSN (for facility preference) NRP RELIAS ACLS MotherBaby experience
Required soft skills: Strong communication adaptability and patient-centered approach
Scrub Color: Unit-issued green scrubs
