Job Summary
Title:
Civil Underground EngineerKBRs Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Civil Underground Engineer to support the Abadi LNG project one of the largest projects in Asia. This project will provide front-end design (FEED) for onshore liquefied natural gas facilities & will have a peak production capacity targets of 9.5 million tons per annum of LNG and 150 million standard cubic feet per day of pipeline gas. The Abadi LNG project has been designated a project of national strategic importance by the Indonesian government.
The Civil Underground Engineer will design and develop underground systems including stormwater drainage sewerage firewater potable water oily water and utility trenches. This role will coordinate with geotechnical structural piping and electrical teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as layouts profiles cross-sections material take-offs and technical specifications
- Perform hydraulic and structural calculations for underground piping and culverts
- Support construction teams with technical guidance field inspections and resolution of underground-related issues
- Ensure compliance with project standards local regulations and international codes (e.g. ASCE API AWWA)
- Participate in design reviews risk assessments and constructability workshops
- Monitor progress and contribute to schedule and cost control efforts related to underground scope
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in civil/structural engineering or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of civil/structural analysis/design engineering experience with average experience of 10 years
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D Bentley OpenRoads StormCAD or equivalent
- Strong understanding of subsurface utilities trenching backfilling and drainage systems
- Good communication and coordination skills across engineering and construction teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary project environment
- Experience with LNG terminals or large-scale industrial facilities
- Familiarity with modular construction and coastal site development
- Exposure to EPC project execution and international engineering standards
